Looking over last year's receipts...

So I just looked at last year's UPS receipts, I spent around 600 to UPS everything that I deemed absolutely necessary to send at the time. I never sent anything else out here thankfully. The rest is all sitting in my parent's shed. I also sent all of my books out here for around 50 bucks through the postal service. I think this time though, I may also send all of our DVDs also. The post office has a smaller fee if you are just shipping media somewhere. You tell them it is books, and they give you the good deal! I think I may have tossed a couple of other things in one of my boxes the last time too. Thankfully they did not check the box! :) Here is the link so you know just how cheap it is.

We really haven't bought anything this year, so that is good! We also will have two vehicles that we can fill with stuff too. Last year I really could send that much out with Jack's car because there was a lb limit. I sent all of our DVDs in his car plus a few small basic things that he needed. (Contacts, solution, shampoo, etc)

I know the dogs have to go in my back seat. Luckily this go around, I will have someone helping me with the dogs. I remember last year I left my air conditioner on full blast, and I would walk Kasey and Maverick and then Roscoe. My trunk was full to the brim with electronics, photos, dishes, and whatever else I was afraid to UPS. My front seat was full of everything my mom had put together for me for my drive. Food, drinks, a backpack with clothes and basic tolietries.

I will never forget the morning I left my parents' house to come out here. I woke up. I had slept in my youngest brother's bed (Will) overnight. I went downstairs, and my mom had made breakfast. Then I waited as long as I could to leave. I started slowly getting everything together. The dogs were in the backyard. My mom helped me get everything I needed placed just so it would fit in my car. I got the dogs in the car. I said my goodbyes and I love yous, and I refused to cry because this was a happy day for me. I was so happy to have the opportunity to do something that most people will never get the chance to do. I was so happy to go on an adventure. I was thrilled to drive across country! I got in my car, backed out of the drive way, looked at the house that I grew up in, and told it goodbye too. I got to the stop sign, and I burst into tears. I drove the long way out of Smyrna. I could have just hopped on 24 to 40, but instead I drove by Nissan, Wal-mart, the Waffle House. I went down Weakly Lane and got on 840 from there and drove all the way down to 40. Once I got on 40, I just drove.

Driving across country is easy. Hop on 40 and drive until you get to California. Getting to the coast is a whole other story.

I already know I will be in tears when we hit the Tennessee stateline. I don't think I will be able to stop, once I know I am that close to home.
