I have to start my blog with saying that my heart totally goes out to this Katie. What you bitches aren't readin' her blog?! What is wrong with you? She just started blogging and totally needs some followers. I am sure it would make her smile if you add her! :)
Anyway back to my extremely long day. I totally got up this morning to get to work around 6:30, so I wouldn't have to stay long after I got back from the mini blogging convention. When Joyce got to work, I ran out the door to meet up with Katie and Misty! I totally thought I was going to be late, and then when I got there Katie wasn't there yet! WHOOT! I wasn't the one that was late. Anyway! I had a great time at lunch! I totally look forward to doing that again! I think we were the loud table from a couple of the looks we were getting. Ha. Somehow that doesn't surprise me. I just wish Katie could have seen the woman's face behind her when she was talking about giving her mom clothes she couldn't wear anymore. I almost died laughing. Oh and I was totally wrong. They both totally stuffed their faces. LOVE IT! :)
This is where the day turns.
I went back to work, and I thought I was only going to be there for a couple of hours. My cashier never showed up. UGH! It was a girl from another store, and since she didn't show up, I think that maybe I told her I would call her back or something. I have no idea. She didn't show up, and I got stuck. I refuse to leave my shift supervisors at the store by themselves on Saturday nights. If I leave, they are there by themselves for 3 hours by themselves.
Towards the end of the night, Joyce calls me up front to help ring people up. I get up there and say something like "I'll help someone right here." I assume people will be polite and let the next person in line go, but that doesn't always happen. It sure didn't happen tonight. The black lady who was in front of the register turned and put her stuff on the counter. (I know you are all like "the black lady" what the hell does that have to do with this story? Just wait.) Next thing I know this white guy who was almost next in line makes a comment about people going before it is their turn. The black lady says, "It happens to me all of the time." This is when the argument ensues. There are racial slurs thrown and where people grew up. I wish I could have had this argument on tape. The guy says that it is my fault for not saying, "the next person in line." The guy who was actually next in line says that I did say, "the next person in line." There is a whole bunch of that's not rights. The man says something like "go back to Africa." The woman says under her breath "damn europeans." The guy says "excuse me." What I love about this woman is that she doesn't hold back. She just told the guy how it was. I felt bad for her son though. He works next door at Compton's. His mom was going to write a check, but when everything started he looked at me and said, "It's going to be debit." That poor kid paid for his mom's crap, so he could get her out of that store before she hit that man.
When we finally were able to leave after I rang up the woman who had to make sure every single item rang up the right price, I had to drive home in the freakin' rain.
I got home to find that my husband had painted the bathroom. It looks soooooooo much better! He also cooked me dinner as soon as I get home. Now all I want is ice cream from McDonald's. I totally think I am about to drive up there to get some.
Ugh! I have to be back at work at 9 in the morning. Bleech.
The blog is all about my journey with the South Beach Diet, but it is currently WAY OFF TRACK!

Mini Blogging Convention is TOMORROW!
WHOOT! I am totally going into work early in the morning. Here's hoping I actually do that! I am so glad that my husband got a check in the mail today because otherwise someone else would be paying for me to eat. I just spent around 600 bucks today just to get my husband's car out of the shop.
I really have nothing interesting to say today. I worked all day, came home took a nap, and then my husband woke me up because dinner was ready. Then I ran to the grocery store to get dog food. Yep that was about the jist of my day. How fun. I mean seriously, I don't even have any rude customer stories.

The lamps
These are the lamps that my grandmother apparently just HAD TO HAVE. Yeah. I know they are horribly ugly, BUT get this! My husband loves them, and he wants to keep them...for his future man room of course. I just think it is so funny that lamps that my granny just had to have are something that my husband loves so much. We are currently using them because I haven't really been able to do much Craigslisting, since we got home. They desperately need new shades, and please excuse the mess on the table. :)
Dear Katie and Misty,
You would be disgusted with my yard right now. I really hope my husband wakes up early in the morning and mows the grass. Push mowing around the trees would be nice too. I swear we have bushes the size of trees! OMG! I wish winter would just hurry up and kill everything, so I can start anew next year.
A whole week!
It has been a whole week, since I last blogged. JEEZ! My excuse is that my computer doesn't want to charge. It takes so long to get it to start charging! On top of that I am tired from working all day, AND my husband plays World of Dorkcraft.
Here is the latest update from the week o Jennifer.
We went to Zanies the other night. It was an ok time except that my brother in law doesn't know how to whisper. He is one of those constant loud talkers. UGH! He made like 3 comments that the comedian heard and commented about. This would be ok had they not sounded like heckling comments. He totally could have been thrown out. Personally, I didn't care for the comedian, but Jack wanted to see him, so we went. I think Zanies may become our "thing to do" because we only live like 5 minutes away from there.
I have been working, working, working BUT my store is starting to look like it needs to which makes me feel pretty damn good! I went to work late yesterday, and I am seriously considering going in on my day off to get a few things done.
My husband painted our bedroom. It is orange. It also needs a second coat, but I refuse to add another coat because the paint we got was Oops paint from Home Depot. We paid 5 dollars for paint that originally would have costed 40. He also painted the hallway (another oops paint of course!). The hallway looks AWESOME! It still needs some crevices painted, but it looks so much better than the dingy white/ black crud! Those are the only two rooms we can paint because the rest is that wood paneling crap. BLEECH!
My mother in law hinted that she wants another grandkid yesterday. She hasn't done that before.
I am totally having allergy problems. I am sick of it! I wheeze at night.
I totally miss California. :( Allergy problems are part of it. The weather. Honestly, thinking about about California and how bad I miss it makes me ironically home sick. I know it will get better, but I really just want to go back. If only I didn't have to pay rent there. I miss driving down the PCH and seeing the ocean. I miss Ralph's ( ridiculous right? I fucking grocery store!). I miss my apartment and my neighbors. I miss Nora. The one friend that I had out there outside of work that was not my neighbor. :*( I miss so much, but I will stop at that. I am secretly hoping that something horrible will happen there just to justify that us moving back was some coincidental good fortune.
That should have totally been the climactic end to my blog post, but it isn't the end.
We decided to take my husband's car somewhere the other day, and we heard a funny noise as we were driving down the road. I finally convinced him to go back home after driving about a mile. We parked in the driveway, and he had me turn his wheel. Pretty damn sure that the fucking control arm is broken! What the hell!? He had to have it towed to Bennett's in Smyrna. It has been sitting there ever since. Oh it gets better! Of course it does! Why not? Bennett's looks at it tells Jack what is wrong, and he informs them that he has a warranty. Ok, the guy he bought the car from CLEARLY SAID the warranty covers everything except the clutch. I told my husband that it sounded fishy when he said except the clutch. I assumed the clutch was going and that is why they said that. Ok, so back to current day. Bennett's calls to make a claim. The warranty company has no record of Jack's warranty! Jack spends the rest of the afternoon trying to get a hold of someone at the dealership we bought the car from to find out why he has no warranty. He FINALLY gets ahold of someone who can tell him something. That person gives him his policy number, and the process starts all over again. They still cannot find it. Process starts again. Jack calls the warranty place this time. They give him an entirely different phone number to call. FINALLY they find the warranty. I really think that someone had to backtrack and actually get the warranty going, and that is just how long it took to get taken care of. I also need to add that the guy at the dealership Jack talks to has also told him that they don't sell a warranty like the one he described, so when Bennett's called to make the claim...it was not fucking covered! This costs 600 dollars! Jack calls the dealership back, and luckily the guy for whatever reason believes that the car salesman Jack dealt with actually did tell him wrong. This tells me that they tell everyone this lie to get people to pay for the warranty (which by the way, my husband was led to believe was free and part of buying the car). Instead of covering the cost of the car being fixed they are covering a car payment. A car payment that is maybe half of what it is costing us to get the damn car fixed. This stupid ass car better last forever!
I apologize if the previous paragraph was confusing in anyway, I was typing quickly. :(

Wonderin' where's my chinaman at?
Hungry!
I had a terribly long day at work today. I was totally planning on leaving early today, and I wound up staying late instead. On a plus note, since I make the schedule, I have a three day weekend!
Oh, and my inventory shrink is HORRIBLE! My store is missing A LOT of money! I am so glad it is not my fault.
I remembered something that I forgot to tell ya'll! My (step)father-in-law made me cry. My mother-in-law told me about this. His sister had cancer, and she got a red wig because that was the natural color of her hair. He told Mo, "That could have been Jennifer's hair." Now, that may not make you tear up, but it really gets me. I donate my hair every year, and while I know that my hair is going to someone that really needs it. I never have the ability to put a face to my donation and for that moment I was able to. It is a feeling I cannot describe. I cannot wait to have the ability to donate again. I should be getting there soon.

Ehh
I worked what feels like all day today. It pretty much is all day 12 till 9. My freakin' morning cashier called and said she would be late. She finally freakin' showed up at like 1. We have way too much to get done for that crap. THEN my district manager decides he wants to have a meeting tomorrow. I totally busted my ass all day, and I am tired.
I wish I had something exciting to say, but I don't. :( I will leave you with these extra cute videos that made me laugh till I cried today.
This one didn't have a way to put the video on here.

Ugh
I am totally going to make an appointment for my husband. He has got to get back on his medication. I am sure I have told ya'll this before, but he has really bad panic attacks. His anxiety has been so bad lately. I am seriously considering calling his doctor he had in Smyrna to see if she will see him tomorrow morning before he has a nervous breakdown.
Inventory Day
Yep. It was inventory day today, and I am exhausted! I have actually been pretty exhausted the past few days hence the not blogging! I am ecstatic that my inventory is done! The outcome was horrible, but it was totally expected.
I totally had a cashier do a no call no show, so she will not be on the schedule ever again. AHhhh the power!
Sooo Misty and I were commenting back and forth about the mini blogging convention (more about this soon). Part of the conversation was how ecstatic we get when we get new readers. I also have to add this. I didn't want to say it on Facebook. While I love my readers, everytime I tell someone my web address I start to stress out! I worry that I have said something bad about them or one of there relatives! HORRIBLE!
I am so excited about this Friday night! I have a date.......with my cousin! YAY! I haven't seen her in forever. The husbands will be there, but ehh they don't count! I get to see my cousin! WHOOT! When we originally planned this, she asked me over a wall post. Neither of us thought anything about it until one of our other cousins asked what it was all about. I totally ignored the comment. I wouldn't mind getting together with her too, but this was a Jennifer and Erika (plus hubbys) event.
Sooo back to the mini blogging convention! I am so psyched for this one too BUT at the same time. Misty is a skinny bitch now. Yeah, I said it. :) Mrs. Spann (I have to specify which Katie) has been working out with a personal trainer for the past month or something. I HOWEVER have been eating anything and everything I want, since we decided to move back to Tennessee. Ummm hello! I wasn't going to be able to eat at those California restaurants anymore, and THEN I get to Tennessee! There are all of these places that I haven't had in California! I have to eat at these places too! I told ya'll I wasn't going to go back to South Beaching till towards the end of July! I cannot wait to go into whatever we finally decide to eat. (BTW, lunch at Blue Coast or dinner ?) Misty is going to cut her food into fourths and then eat half of the food that is left, and Katie is going to be looking at the menu wondering what her personal trainer would approve of then cut that in half. I HOWEVER am going to get whatever the hell I want and eat every freakin' bit of it! Don't judge me! I am going to restart my South Beach, once I purchase a scale that will tell me how much I weigh. I will go into shock, and I will be forced to start eating healthier.
What I don't understand about me not eating healthy is that I LOVE everything I eat on South Beach! The last couple of times I have restarted, I have just not been prepared or I haven't had my husband totally in on it with me. If he is in on it with me, he will think about the food he cooks too. Then I don't have to worry about cheating. My sister in law asked me about it the other day, so I am kind of hoping that I can get her in on it, and then I will have even more support to get the rest of this weight off! AND now that I am back in Tennessee, I will have more people to drag me out to exercise. I do have to say that I was walking laps around my store the other day. I need to grab a pedometer and see how many steps it is around the store. :)
**I would just like to go ahead and reiterate this** While I do have an English degree, I do not proofread any of my blog posts. There are errors! :) I should be ashamed, but I'm not.
I would also like to say HI to my newest follower! HI! Make sure you check out 2010: The Year of Katie. I would tell you to check out Misty's Rants and Raves, but she went private about a month ago. You can read what she read before she went private, and if you totally want to know more (and you will), shoot her an e-mail and see if she will add you! :) Cheyenne's is a good one too! There are a few more over there that you should check out too!

The verdict is in!
I am not totally pissed. I didn't get what I asked for (of course), but I did get what I wanted! WHOOP! The amount looks rinky dink compared to what they make out in California, but it is around the amount that I would have made just starting out as a teacher. :) YAY to being the store manager at a store! I HAVE POWER! Ha! Now, I can be power happy like so many of the other managers I know. OK, so seriously, that will (probably) not happen.
I also discovered that it was a good thing that I never called the chick I was working with a bitch to her face. She apparently was there to see if I was still as good as I used to be when I was in Tennessee to begin with! I would have to say that my "Yeah, I hear ya" attitude paid off! :)
I have cable YAY! Now, I have to go to work. Boo!

Tomorrow!
I have my official meeting with my district manager tomorrow! YAY! Hopefully I will officially be classified as a manager on Sunday! Please oh please! I want more money. I just wish I could get the amount that the previous manager made. I ran across one of his old paychecks that was in a filing cabinet. Yes, it was already open, and I only looked at it because I thought it might belong to one of my cashiers. Well, it didn't and that guy made (he got fired, so I feel like I can just go ahead and say this) 18.80 an hour. Since ya'll don't know, whenever I start up my SM position, I will have to work 45 hours. 40 at regular and pay 5 at time and a half. Now do the math on that guy's paycheck, and he made bank compared to what I will make as a starting manager. I am seriously worried that they are going to try to low ball me big time because when I asked the DMA what she thought I should ask for, she suggested 14.75. I asked for 15.50 instead because I am fucking determined that I am going to make more doing this than I would have using my degree as a teacher. At the same time though, I am still really considering finishing up my minor when I do decide to have kids just so that I can be at home with them. Anyway, you will know how I feel about this tomorrow. Will I be uber pissed because they wouldn't give me something close to what I wanted, or will I be happy. You will know by my tone tomorrow. :)
I am happy to say that my soon to be store is totally ready for inventory! Go Us!
That love/hate girl that I was working with the past couple of days is now gone. When she left, I felt a weight go off of my shoulders. I actually felt like the store was mine for the first time, since I got there on Monday. I actually don't think she did anything today that made me want to smack her which was good.
I am also looking forward to a 3 day weekend next weekend, so if anyone possibly wants to get together next Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, let me know!
I totally cleaned out from underneath the sink in the kitchen. It was disgusting! I wish I would have taken a picture of the before. I still want to contact paper it just so it really does look clean. Speaking of that does anyone need any Cascade? I can't use the dishwasher here, so I have some I will be more than happy to give you.
Oh! So this morning I get up, and my husband is running around looking for his jeans. He can't find them, so I start looking for them. All of the sudden, he walks in the room, and asks me, "Can you tell these are girl's jeans?" I said, "You are NOT wearing those!" It is hilarious after the fact, but this morning I felt so bad for him. :( Add hubby's jeans to the list of items that has not made it to Tennessee. Anyway back to what he looked like in these jeans. Ya'll I have a butt! It totally runs in the family, and I have just learned to deal with it. Now, my husband does not have a butt, so these pants just hung off of him like he was missing something like an ass! This makes me giggle just thinking about what he looked like in those. Guys, I begged him to just wear dress pants, but he refused because he didn't have any dress shoes. Seriously? Who cares!?

ALMOST
My kitchen is almost clean. Ugh. I am seriously considering bleaching the floors, but I am not sure I can get enough ventilation to do it. I have almost finished putting all of the contact paper in. I only have 3 more drawers to line. I also need to clean out from underneath the sink. That is the worst part of the whole kitchen. It is sooo gross! That is where all of the cleaning products are, and it doesn't look like it has been cleaned, since my grandparents' built this place.
I also want to clean all of the wood floors because everytime I walk on them my feet are black. Yeah. I am so disgusted that if I am going to bed, I have to wash my feet before getting into the bed.
I have to be at work bright and early in the morning. That is fine by me! I hate to close! I will be happy when I take over the schedule! Then I will only close on the one night a week that I want to close. :)

Catching up on my blog reading.
*My husband started work today! I am off of work, so I will FINALLY be able to blog! YAY! I am so excited that he got to start work today! He was so bored just sitting at home the last few days!
*Ok, so here I was just sitting here watching channel 5, and a commercial came on for a furniture place with slightly damaged furniture from the flood. I will be damned if they don't have MY couch for 499! It even comes with an ottoman! I was looking for an ottoman to add to my furniture set in California. You know I totally posted it on Facebook in hopes that my mother in law sees it and feels sorry for me. I would totally pay her back! I REALLY want it! She felt bad that I had to leave my furniture in California.
*Ok, so I have to tell you what my last post was all about. In the first 6 nights we have been here, my brother in law sayed 3 NIGHTS! He totally wore out his welcome! I don't mind every now and then, but geez! One morning he went to the grocery store, and he came back with food! Oh that would be fine, but he thought we should cook breakfast for him! Jack and I totally just wanted to go to Shoney's that morning, and since he went and bought all of this breakfast food we were forced to stay at home for breakfast and cook it for HIM! WHAT? I would never just assume that someone would cook! Rrrr! Then one night he kept asking when we were going to eat because he was hungry! Well, Jack and I are still 2 hours behind. We haven't gotten used to the time yet, so we are still doing everything 2 hours late. He asked about 50 times. Jack asked me what I wanted to do, and I had no idea because I WASN'T hungry! We didn't eat lunch until about 4:00. I finally told Jack we could just get in the car and find something. I was glad to know that my husband was also very irritated with him! My brother in law just doesn't know when to stop talking sometimes. I can sit and watch a movie and not say a word, but he has to talk through half of it. Another thing that bugged me about him staying 3 NIGHTS was that it made progress on us getting settled in totally stop. We weren't able to clean or empty out boxes NOTHIN'!
*Speaking of emptying out boxes! I am missing a box! A box of SHOES! Ok, so I have told you I only own like 3 pairs of shoes! Well I only have the shoes that I drove here in. I have no idea where that box is! I had to get a pair of old tennis shoes from my mom, so I would have something to go to work in! I am pleading for them to be delivered! My husband lost one of the UPS receipts, so I don't know what actually made it here and what didn't. We also didn't check the boxes off of the receipts that we do have to make sure we actually received it. Rrrr! I wish I could have just taken care of all of this by myself again. I wish you could have seen some of the boxes when they arrived! It looks like they left them out in the rain, and oh all the broken stuff thanks to my husband's horrible packing. I don't even want to go there just know a lot of stuff is broken! I will blame the broken stuff on UPS too because of their shitty handling. and WHERE THE HELL ARE MY SHOES! My new pair of New Balance that I have only worn like 10 times! UGH!
*We are broke right now. My paycheck when I got here was 220 bucks! It is totally my fault because I totally didn't work a lot of hours and also because I totally forgot to put in my vacation time before I left. Oh well! It just means another week of vacation for me this year! YAY! A real vacation because I will have the money for it! WHOOT!
*I started my job on Monday. They finally called me on friday morning of last week to tell me where I would be going. I got the Smith Springs store! I am not officially the manager until this friday I think, but everyone keeps telling me I am the manager there, so we will go with it. I am entirely thankful that the manager that has been the acting manager there for the past couple of weeks has gotten the store in great shape, but what I don't like is that she threw out a ton of stuff that really didn't need to be thrown away without my approval. I can't decide if I like her or not. I will start liking her, and then she will say something that makes me want to smack the crap out of her. For instance, her stand on employees who have restrictions with their schedule. I had to bring up that some people have school or another job, and they don't have an option. I mean hell I worked at Rite Aid/Eckerd the entire time I was in school. That is one of the pluses to working retail is that the schedule is flexible. Ugh! Then one of the cashiers came into the stockroom while she was standing on a chair behind one of the doors. He immediately said, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know you were there." She rolled her eyes, and then waited like 5 minutes to say, "Oh it's ok." Well apparently not if it took you that long to accept the apology! She is also one of those people who likes to tell you that "WE" are going to do something when she means "YOU." It is much better to say, "I'll let you do this" and "I'm going to do this." Saying, "We are going to blah, blah." pisses me off when I do it all on my own. I will be so glad when she gets the hell out of my store. I have tried to be as nice as possible to her, since she is about to be a district manager. I just hope and pray that she doesn't become a DM over a district that I am in.

My niece is here!
Hailey Elizabeth Deakins was born at 1:24pm. She weighs 6 lbs 7 oz. I wish I could show you all of the tons of pictures I took of her today, but the stupid nurses in the nursery wouldn't bring her over to the window for me to see her. My sister-in-law wound up having to have a C-section, and she was totally out of it when we got there thanks to the painkillers they had her on. Chris was totally overwhelmed, so he asked the nurse to keep Hailey in the nursery for a little while. He was totally exhausted. He did say that his father-in-law made a scene when Chris brought Hailey out to show the family. They told Chris to not let anyone hold her until they could check her out, so he didn't let anyone hold her. Melinda's dad apparently was totally pissed that Chris wouldn't let him hold her. Then the nurses whisked her away, so by the time I had gotten there neither Chris nor Melinda had really spent anytime with her. My mom was pretty upset that she didn't get to hold her today either. :( Tomorrow, tomorrow. I have to go in to Smyrna to see about my job tomorrow, so I will just have to run to MTMC after that.
I think we might finally have all of our boxes that we UPS'd out here. I have a shower curtain in the bathroom, so it looks way different in there. This place is slowly beginning to look not like my grandparents' house. I have gotten rid of quite a bit of the moth ball smell. Thank God. Ok, well maybe it is still here, and I am just getting used to it.
I will leave you with a super sweet picture. This is my husband and the nephew!

:)
Sorry so long since the last post!
So here is the update!
The last time you heard from me we were in Williams, AZ. The next morning we got up, I hit the Starbucks, and we got on the road. I totally wanted to stop at the Grand Canyon! Instead we stopped at the Petrified Forest. Ummm...I had never heard of it before I drove though AZ....have you..Yeah that is probably why it freakin' sucked so bad! I totally would have rather hit the Grand Canyon even if it was 115 degrees outside and 2 hours out of the way. I would have spent one more night out on the road just so I could do that! Next time..next time.
We stayed over night in Moriarty, New Mexico the next night. We got stuck in traffic for like 2 hours that day before we finally made it there. There was a terrible accident where 2 people died. Apparently 3 girls in an SUV hit a tractor trailer that was stopped on the interstate due to another accident. They never hit the brakes. Anyway, it was a beautiful drive as I am sure that you could tell by the pictures that did it absolutely no justice at all. Anyway, we stayed overnight in Moriarty which I have already said.. This place was like hick town New Mexico. We ate at a restaurant called..My Restaurant. Really creative right? The Motel 6 that we stayed in suggested it. They said it was great. I don't know how the hell they knew that, since it was the first night that it was open! It took forever to get the food, and the guy behind the counter did not know what an open faced sandwich is! We ate and then ran to grab a couple of drinks. Jack wanted one beer (he is on this sipping beer thing. I can't complain. It is better than him getting totally trashed all of the time.). We asked the lady at the gas station where we could get a beer, and she sent us way down the road to some liquor slash beer store. We were followed by some cop all the way there. I totally thought we were getting pulled over. This place looked like a strip club/store! They actually had (get ready for this all of you nasty cheap beer drinkers) St. Ides. Yeah. Jack made me try it because it is what he used to always drink when he was younger. It was absolutely disgusting! Jack's quote for the night was "I hope we don't get raped."
The next day we hop on the road and continue on our merry way. I can't remember anything fun and exciting on the drive that day. We drove all the way to Shawnee, OK. We tried to get a room at the Motel 6 there, but they were full. We continued on down the interstate. We just went ahead and drove all the way to Arkansas. We got into Fort Smith, stopped at a Motel 6, and that is where I get a little pissy. Here is the story.
I walk into the Motel 6 and request a room and go ahead and tell her I have dogs with her. The girl asks how many people. I say 2. The girl asks how many animals. I say 3. The girl, "Oh well I am really sorry, but our managers policy is only 2 pets per room. WHAT?! YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME! I'm sorry that is our manager's policy. WELL I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS AT ANY OF THE OTHER MOTEL 6'S ACROSS THE COUNTRY. YOUR MANAGER'S POLICY IS BULLSHIT. I walk out. I go to Jack. He tells me to calm down! Umm no! I am not going to calm down. He says we will just rent 2 rooms for the night. I refused to go back in because I am so freakin' furious! We wind up having to rent two rooms for the night, and we only use 1. The bathroom was disgusting. I was totally disgusted by this motel. I wanted out of there as quickly as possible! I haven't sent a complaint, but it will be happening really soon!
After we got into the room, we ran over to the Waffle House. I hadn't eaten at a Waffle House in FOREVER! This one was the best one to eat at! We went in, and I heard the magic word. SWEET TEA! OMG! Someone said sweet tea. Then I heard Ya'll. Then I heard one of the thickest southern accents. I was just totally in heaven! I totally felt at home.. The food was great too!
The next morning, I about had a heart attack when someone waved at me! My immediate thought was, "Do I know them?" It took me a second to remember where I was. That day I was finally able to order sweet tea without someone asking me "What is sweet tea? OH is that tea with sugar in it?"
We headed across Arkansas and finally crossed the Tennessee state line. Now, I have to tell you. I have been bitching about how boring Oklahoma and Arkansas were driving across country the first time. This time, I was in heaven seeing all of the green that didn't have to be watered with a sprinkler. All of the hills. Aaaah. It was beautiful. Driving through Tennessee on that final stretch was definitely not as long as I thought it would be. My husband was about 20 miles ahead of me, so he got here first. We just went on to my grandfather's house. It was nice to finally be here. We hung out here for a while, and then went to my parents' house and ate dinner there. As strange as this may seem, it doesn't really feel like I was in California for a year. It feels more like I just came back from vacation. The town looks the same. My little brothers are a little taller. My sister in law is very pregnant! My older brother is excited to be a daddy.
The next day we went to see Jack's mom. AND I FINALLY got to meet my nephew! He is just darling! So cute! Jack's step dad is strangely pleasant. He is usually grumpy Paul, but now he is surprisingly pleasant Paul. :)
We have so much to do at this house! It needs to be scrubbed from top to bottom. It also needs paint in a couple of rooms, but it is where I call home from now until who knows when. The dogs love it. They have been really good, since we got here. They love the backyard. I am in the process of making this place smell less like mothballs, and also giving this place a Jennifer face lift. I feel like this is the house I should have lived in through college because it has that look. If that makes any sense. The walls are all that faux wood stuff. The floors are hardwood. The kitchen has hexagon shapes on it. The bathroom is all tile, but it does have a shower! HALLELUJAH! The washer works, and the dryer kind of does.
I start work on Monday, and it appears that I have gotten a store. I am just not sure which one yet.
Glad to be back ladies and erm um gentlemen if there are any out there! I hope I can start to blog everyday again. It just depends upon how much of a problem my computer gives me. I can update on my phone, but it is taking me a little longer to type up than I like.

YAY for free WiFi!
Well I went to my store this morning, and I didn't even clock in. I walked in and told them I just stopped by to say bye! I took a couple of pictures of Thrifty ice cream and ran home!
All of the subletting went through. I would just like you to know that I wish I had that lady's money! Jack said that she cut a check for the 2 months she would be living there AND she signed a 14 month lease and cut a check for that too! WHAT?! I wish! Jack saw one of her tax returns, and she makes 20 grand a month just off of the condos that she owns! Her husband works in Chicago and lives in Texas? CRAZY! I am totally jealous. I wish I could just say, "Eh. I feel like going to California for the weekend." Then go hop on a flight!
Anyway! We squared away with the apt complex, packed the cars up (stressful in itself!), and hit the road. I have taken a ton of pictures along the way, so I hope you are checking all of my photos! I can't believe it the roads aren't terrible at the moment, and we can actually see the lines! We are currently in Williams, AZ. It seems to be a tourist town. I was hoping to stop in Flagstaff, but we were debating on going to the Grand Canyon. We are now thinking the Petrified Forest. The dogs have been really good. Roscoe is riding with Jack. He loves it! We got into the motel room, and Roscoe was ready to go get in the car again. Kasey and Maverick are stuck in their cages while in my car. Maverick likes to whine about it alot! My car isn't totally full, the backseat has the cages. The front floor board has stuff in it, but I try to leave the seat as clean as possible. The trunk just has stuff in it, but it isn't crammed. Jack's car on the other hand. He crammed it full. We UPS'd the rest! I had to part with my vacuum cleaner and carpet cleaner. They went to good neighbors who needed them, so it was worth it.
Oh! So I have decided that the next time I take this trip (with or without the hubby), I want to drive to CA on I 40 and then on the way back, I want to take I 70 back to TN. Google it! It looks awesome! My next trip will also be dog free! I want to see everything possible!
