Day 63!

Hi new followers and readers! Thanks for reading!

I had to put a picture on this post because Marcy in the SBD group said something about being a Southern girl! YAY! When she mentioned this and enjoying hearing about my adventures out here in CA, I thought to myself. Have I told them what happened to my husband in the office at our apt complex the other day? I am not sure if I did, but I'm going to now. I apologize if this is a restatement. My husband went into the main office last Sunday to ask for a parking pass for his new car. The person at the front counter actually had the nerve to make fun of his accent! They mimicked him, and asked (this is the best part of all because it really shows the person's ignorance to the state of TN), "Well what in the tarnation are you doin' all the way out here in CA?" Have you ever heard anyone in TN use the word tarnation in regular conversation? If I know someone out here and they make fun of my accent, it does not bother me one bit. When someone I don't know does it, I just want to smack them across the face. It is almost like they think that we are not intelligent because we are from Tennessee! You should see their faces when you tell them that something is more technologically advanced in the south! For instance! Out here you do not get your driver's license on the same day! You have to wait 2 weeks to get it! In TN, you get your driver's license a couple of minutes after you take your photo! Another difference! The theaters out here are not all stadium seating! Almost all of the theaters in TN are stadium seating. If they aren't, chances are they are the cheap theaters! I miss the south. Oh excuse me the east coast. LOL That is what the Californians call it! If you say the south out here, they assume you are talking about Southern California.

I'm finished with my Southern rant for the day! I did indeed step on the scale today after specifically saying I wasn't going to! It turned out to be a good thing! WHOOT! 40 lbs! Can you believe it? I am almost half way there! Ok, honestly I know even when I hit my goal of 87 lbs, I will still not be in a healthy range, BUT I will be at my weight I was when Jack and I met! I don't want to add a higher weight loss number to it yet because I think an even higher number will look even more daunting. Soooo for now! My next goal is another 10 lbs. I am so excited! It would be awesome if I could lose another 20 lbs by the time I make my official visit to TN! My sister in law's baby shower is at the end of May, so I may try to go then! I need to renew my tags anyway!

Day 62!

Bleech! I am going to pay for my brunch I just had today and tomorrow. It was totally fatty and salty. I don't even think I should step on the scale for the next couple of days, BUT I did step on it this morning before I ate. If the scale is not lying, I am down 39 lbs. It was almost 40, but I am not trying to push it. Anyway, this is the lowest I have seen the scale in a very long time, and I am totally happy! YAY! Now my husband needs to find his receipt for his suit, so we can finally take it back! We totally need the money. I will be so happy come next Friday when we are back to not being totally and completely broke! We will just be semi broke! Whoot!

Day 61.5

Second post of the day. I guess this is to make up for skipping yesterday.

I found out today when Jack got home that our roommate is moving out! WHOOT! Ok happy dance, but now my mind is reeling about what all we need to do to make this no roommate thing work. I am now going to proceed in telling you my plan because I have to type it up. This is the same thing that I did when we decided to move to California. I couldn't sleep because I just kept thinking about it. Here we go. My paychecks alone will pay the rent. If that is all we use my checks for we are good. Jack's check will go to electric, phone, and cable (if we even keep cable). His paycheck will also pay for groceries, gas, and any fun stuff we do. Jack also just got a new position at work!!! :) The only thing is that he loses a little bit of money a month, BUT he gets a phone. This means we will only pay for my phone line. That is only exactly 40 bucks thanks to Metro PCS. He also gets the option to do shows on the side and get paid a day rate! This is AWESOME! This means we have the opportunity for extra cash every month. This is going to work! OMG OMG OMG! We are going to be back to NO ROOMMATE....well until a little one comes along. We are in the talks. As I said at the very beginning of my blogging days, one of the reasons I want to lose weight is to have a child. I know sounds totally backwards, but being overweight affects fertility. Ahh. I am sure I will have to find a way to take my lunch every day to work just to save money. Well a lot of money actually. I don't care though! I am so ready for it to just be my husband and me! WHOOT!

Day 61!

I didn't write yesterday because I couldn't think of anything interesting to say just another day at the Rite Aid. Same today, but I will tell you that I cannot wait to see Alice in Wonderland! I am soo ready! AHH! I hope to be telling you that I got to go see it sometime in the very near future! I am currently awaiting my husband's arrival home. He left before me this morning, but he also works almost an hour away (in traffic). I cleaned the living room and kitchen today instead of waiting until tomorrow. I hope that Jack and I get to do something at least half way fun tomorrow, and I want all of that out of the way.

The scale hasn't moved! YAY! It was not a fluke that it moved the other day! I was seriously concerned. I thought for sure that it was just by chance that the scale said fewer lbs. Maybe in the morning, I will have lost some more. I do plan to sleep a little later. It is Saturday after all!

Day 59

I was going to post this as my status on Facebook, and I changed my mind. I just want to let all of my followers in on a little secret. If you wonder how Jack and I go to see advanced screenings of movies all of the time, there are 2 ways. Most of the time when we get our free tickets, we run into someone at the theater that is giving them out, but there is also a website that lets you into them! Here it is!

http://www.filmmetro.com/events/

You will have to create a membership (it's free!) Once you do, it will let you search by state! Then just reserve and print out your ticket. They are usually good for 2, but you can always get your friends to join too. Go as a big group!

So there you have it! You are in on the big secret! I hope you get to go see a few free advance screening movies too!

Day 58!

It is day 58! I stepped on the scale this morning to discover that I am down 37 lbs. OMG! YAY GO ME! Whoot! Only 21 more lbs until I get to say goodbye to the 2! Feel free to do the math.

I cooked soup last night and fried yes fried some bacon. It was totally unhealthy fatty bacon, but oh boy was it good in that soup! Hey! It was in the freezer. My husband and I ARE eating anything in the fridge this week just to get through. Tonight will be chicken nuggets and tator tots. Honestly, I cannot wait to have money in the bank again! I love the foods I cook for South Beach. I would love chicken saute tonight instead of processed (possibly freezer burnt) chicken nuggets, but what's a broke girl gotta do?

I got to come home for lunch today. I actually was able to find something a little healthy for lunch. I took a couple of whole grain wheat tortillas, 1/3 fat cream cheese, and sliced up some onion. (spread the cream cheese on the tortilla and toss the onion on; roll up and eat like a burrito!) My onion was sooo strong that it hurt to eat it. I had to squeeze almost all of the onion out. I did not want the headache that ensues after I eat ridiculously strong onions. When I came home from work today, I fried some more bacon. It really does have to be cooked! It was frozen for a couple of months, and I don't want it to go bad. <--this is my excuse for eating fatty bacon...oh my gosh it is sooooooo good. I mean like if I close my eyes while eating it, I can totally pretend like I am sitting at my grandmother's house as a little kid. Now if only I can find some decent fried okra! Fried okra yummmmm. I really do think that some of these good southern foods are illegal out here in California.

Day 57!

It is day 57, and I really haven't eaten that much today. I know, I know it isn't good for you. Blah blah... I am currently making dinner. I will definitely be eating that. This is part of the whole "we are broke thing." I know we are broke; therefore, I am not eating that much. Hence, why I said it would be good for my waistline. I did run to the bank today and deposit a couple of emergency checks we have, so hopefully we will have at least a little bit of money for a while. As long as we can put gas in our cars and eat, we are good! No fretting here! Dinner is going to be a Bear Creek soup (cheddar potato), and I am throwing in some bacon we had in the freezer for some added flavor. I think it is going to awesome! Oh! If you have not tried any of the Bear Creek soup mixes that you can pick up at your local grocery store, I highly recommend them! I really recommend buying a few when they are on sale!
