Well this day has been bad/good. Bad for Jack but it went pretty well for me! Jack found out his rim on his car is bent. SUCKS! I mean we are having a hard enough time coming up with the money to pay the rent this month let alone worry about extra issues, but as we all know when it rains it pours. I am just waiting until the middle of next month. I am hoping and praying that we are back to normal! BLEECH!
I went on my Freecycle/Craigslist run after I got off of work. The first place I went had a lot of pots, but most of them didn't look like people should be cooking out of them. My husband gave me the "you better not even think of bringing that home" look. I grabbed the large pots because that is what I needed. That chick had a ton of stuff. Then we headed off to the other person's place. I got that, and this lady proceeds to hand me a two big bags. I thought one of them had the cast iron skillet I was there for, and the other bag had food. I was honestly surprised! She told me how she can't eat starches anymore, but the government gives her the food supplement. She then gives it to people who need it on sites like Craigslist or Freecycle. I was very surprised and very appreciative. Free food is always welcome! Anyway, I get home and realize that both of the bags are full of food! I immediately realize that she made a mistake! These bags were not meant for me! I e-mailed her back and forth after I got home. Apparently she got me mixed up with another lady who was coming to pick up the food. She told me to keep the food, and when I get a chance to make sure I stop by and grab the cast iron skillet! She had enough food to give me and the other lady. I had to admit though there is no way that we could ever finish the food that she gave us in any short amount of time, so I am taking back what I know we will take forever to get to so the other lady can get this food. That woman has a little boy, and I am sure that she needs it far worse than we do. I mean how am I ever going to use up 4 bags of rice, 3 bags of powdered milk (sending that all back..I cannot even stomach the thought), a whole block of cheese (OMG government cheese! I am keeping that thing.), 3 cans of evaporated milk, a bag of pinto beans, and a bag of snack size bagels!
