Just got a letter

I just got a letter from MTSU's records office to inform me that they are holding my diploma because I owe money. Have I told ya'll about that? I have a degree, but no diploma or proof of the fact that I have it because I haven't paid the library 14.00 in late fees. I wonder if they will let me pay it over the phone or by check. Horrible isn't it? I have a degree to hang on the wall, and it is just sitting in the records office waiting for me to pay. Oh...I graduated back in 07. I guess I should mention that it HAS already been over 2 years! I think it is time to pay up. Then I can start looking into possibly getting my masters or finishing out my education minor.

......

My husband just said the scariest thing to me. He got out of his last day of that class and came home. I had stayed home today just because I was being lazy. I have to work Saturday. Blah blah. Ok so anyway. The scariest thing. My husband got home and read his e-mail, and I guess a lot of people were trying to give him grief about his class and having to take a day off of work. He looks at me and says, "If they say anything, I may just throw my hands up in the air." (This was as he was leaving to go into work after getting out of the class early.) Does that mean quit and move back to TN? I know he said the other day that the offer was really tempting. I mean all of our family is in Tennessee. Hmmm.. I am totally for it and totally not sure at the same time, but our lease is almost up. It is definitely something that will be considered every year we have to renew a lease. OOOOOORRRR we could just go live in my grandfather's house for FREE and save lots o money for when we do buy a house...I am thinkin' babies too! Think about all you could do without a house or rent payment. :)

Food today is so far so good! :)

Successful Day 3!

I have successfully gotten through day 3 without cheating! I did get hungry a few times today which is odd for me. I usually eat because I am bored. I guess my metabolism has been kicked up a notch! :) Here is to hoping that the scale has moved in the morning!

I start back to my regular job tomorrow! YAY! AHHH! I am so excited! Once I am completed with my work, I can leave if I want. Ugh! I wish I were salary!

I think I forgot to tell you! I tried jicama yesterday! I could not believe it! It was ACTUALLY good! It almost tastes/looks like a cross between a potato and an apple. It wasn't as sweet as an apple, but I tossed it in a little bit of Splenda and ate it raw. Apparently the mexican community squeezes lime on it. I am not quite sure about that, but I may try it eventually. What I did not like about it was that it left my mouth a little dry. I could also tell which pieces were closest to the skin because they were tougher than the other pieces. Tough pieces not so good. I also did a little experiment with it. I read online that a lot of people cook jicama like a potato. I thought, "Hey! Mashed jicama! It is worth a try!" I was horribly unsuccessful. I don't know if I didn't boil it long enough, but I thought 30 minutes would be long enough. I am going to check online to see if there is a trick. I should have tried just throwing it in a bowl and mixing it or even using a blender on it. It was good just boiled though with a little salt and a dash of milk. It tasted like boiled potato. So, if you can find it in the grocery store, try it! :) It is less starchy than a potato, so it goes just fine with my phase 1 restart!

Beginning of day 3

I did pretty well on day 2. I felt like I ate too much, but that is a common feeling for me when south beachin'. I am just ready to have this day over with, so it will be even easier to say no to the bad stuff. I am already down 5 lbs. I am sure it is all water weight, but it is still fun to see go. :)

Yesterday was my last day at that store! Back to normal on Monday!

Our sink is backed up AGAIN! I really don't wanna have to call them to get them to come fix it again, but it looks like I have no choice! Perhaps if they would actually figure out what the problem actually is, I wouldn't have to go through it again!

Restart!

Yep! I restarted Friday! GO ME! I did really well the first day. Here is to watching the number decrease on the scale!

I fell asleep on the couch really early today, so I am wide awake at 3:30 in the morning. I have to be at that store in like 4 hours, but at least it is my last day! FINALLY back to normal on Monday! Whoop! I will be back to sleeping normally! YAY!

I think I am going to attempt the sleep thing again here in a minute.

I'm about to sound like I don't appreciate living by the ocean.

I think that people that vacation at the beach like to pretend that the people who live there don't have to have jobs. I keep reading all of these status updates about people's vacations, and how they want to live there. Blah! Umm hello! I live right next to the beach, and I haven't been there in a couple of weeks! I don't get to go everyday. I would love to, but that requires either going by myself or convincing my husband to go after he gets off of work. Relaxing by the beach while you are on vacation is so much different than relaxing by the beach when you get off of work. I mean you get off of work, drive home, and THEN you have to get your chairs together for the beach, get back into your car that you just sat in for an hour, and drive to the beach, pay to park, get out with all of your beach stuff, and then take all of it down to the beach, relax before the sun goes down, grab all of your stuff, get back to the car, drive back home, and leave your beach stuff in your car until the next day. Ugh, now I see why we only go to the beach on the weekend. Another thing that is different is when I go on vacation to the beach (I don't know about ya'll), I forget all of my every day worries. I don't worry about bills or what I am forgetting to take care of. I just enjoy my worry free vacation with family. If I forgot something, I will just grab it at the Wal-mart. I wish I could do that here. I would have to take a week off of work just to enjoy the beach and pretend like I am on vacation.

I think all of that came from the offer my mom offered me this afternoon. You already know she offered to fly me home. Well today she offers to move me home. My hubby was totally not going for that one. He and I feel the same way about California. It isn't home. We would love to be home, but we love it here too. I just wish I could fly home at any given time. Then at the same time, I know how much cheaper it is to live in TN. I was looking on a foreclosure website tonight, and there was a house on there 2br/2ba that was only 79,000 (in TN). I know foreclosures are not always ideal, but I am just giving an example. I mean, if Jack and I were to move back to TN, we could live at my grandfather's house for free. My grandfather is currently in an assisted living place by choice. We could save up money for a down payment on a house while living there. All of the money we spend here just to pay the rent. We could have a house payment that is sooo much cheaper than what we pay now! It really is tempting. After hearing how much my brother and his wife are going to have to pay just to put Hailey in daycare, it totally scares me out of even giving birth in California. I mean if it costs that much to put a child in daycare there, I can only imagine what it costs here! Holy Crap! It is almost 1000 bucks a month for a newborn according to !this website. No freakin' way!

South Beach Restart in the morning! Whoot! I went grocery shopping today! My hubby came home and said, "Wow! There is food in the fridge! You went all out today!" I then informed him it was all healthy! :) I am excited to lose the next 25! Yay to saying goodbye to that number 2!

2 more days of working at this store.

We are talking about coming home the second week of August even though I really wanna be there in July! The only problem with August is knowing that school is probably going to be starting back up. I told my husband that, and he said, "So, we will spend mornings with my mom and evenings with your parents" Just seems a little unfair to me. There is less time in the evenings. I still want to convince him to just drive across country with me, and then he can fly home when he has to...more time for me in Tennessee! Hell I could probably work while I am there if I really wanted to! :)
